Mikheil Chonishvili – Founder of Chona’s Marani
"Chona’s Marani" is the family winery, located in city Telavi, Region Kakheti, Georgia. The family has a long tradition of producing natural wines that is transmitted by generations and is based on Kakhetian traditional technology, which implies producing wine in the Qvevri (Clay pot where Georgians are making and ageing wine for 8000 years) Winemaking was a family tradition long time, for our own consumption as well as for guests.
Georgian tradition, Georgian folk (I am also a folk singer) inspired me to found the brand Chona’s Marani in 2014 and introduce our wine to the world, because we think that in dry wines we have our own signature, which we recommend to taste.
Wine is produced from the grape grown in family’s own vineyards. The vineyard is maintained according to bio-organic rules. Maintenance of the vineyard, grapes, wine making and bottling - is carried out by family members
